Consultant, writer, researcher and teacher in the field of leadership, strategic
human resource management and organisation development, change
and learning. 'Bill' founded Prometheus Consulting in 1991 following
a long career with British Airways.
Bill was British Airways' first Head of General Training. He
played a major role in the airline's mid-1980s privatisation culture-change
initiative. Up to his leaving he was BA's Head of HR Strategy
& Planning. He advised on the human resources implications of
the company's merger with British Caledonian. His review of BA's
human resources department led to a new role and structure. He
introduced flexible working initiatives to combat demographic
trends. And he overhauled the airline's bureaucratic systems for
providing employment information.
He is Visting Fellow in Leadership at Cass Business School. He was a visiting member of faculty on City University Business
School's part-time MBA Programme, where he taught human resource
management and corporate responsibility. He is also a member of
the Centre for Tomorrow's Company. A prolific author, he has written
many books and articles.
